This past March, a union of over 40,000 Southern California grocery workers authorized a strike regarding the pay and unfair conditions of grocery store workers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, grocery workers were at high risk of contracting COVID-19. In turn, when workers eventually got COVID-19, they often lost their jobs. Meanwhile, grocery store CEO’s made billions in profits without giving any pay raises or benefits to their employees. These workers deserve fair rights and fair treatment, as all workers do.
